Dr. Julian Whitaker has adopted baking soda in his overall cancer treatment. He uses a recipe containing 12 g (2 rounded teaspoons) of baking soda mixed in 2 cups water, along with a low-cal sweetener of the patient’s choice. The mixture is then used over courses three times a day.
Sodium bicarbonate can be taken orally, in combination with water or in medical baths. As such, it is an effective ingredient for treating cancer, but also diabetes, kidney disease, and influenza.
The studies of Dr. Robert J. Gillies demonstrated that treatment of mice with baking soda resulted in the alkalinization of the area around tumors and that the ingredient increased tumor pH while inhibiting metastases.

Malignant tumors are masses of rapidly growing cells, followed by a quick cellular metabolism. They are using more carbohydrates and sugars to generate energy, which produces lactic and pyruvic acid. However, some of the compounds formed from the energy production include lactic acid and pyruvic acid. Since the metabolism of cancer cells is faster, the acids accumulate in the immediate environment of the tumor, thus enhancing the possibility of metastasis. Sodium bicarbonate turned out to be a simple and affordable solution and injecting it directly near the position of the tumor has proven to be the most effective method.
These results were first published in 2009, in the journal Cancer Research. The researchers also concluded that sodium bicarbonate works by raising the pH outside and not within cells. This suggests that sodium bicarbonate does not interfere with cellular metabolism. Other findings from this study show that baking soda reduced the liver involvement and the spread of tumor cells to other organs and the involvement of the lymph node in the cancer cells transport.
Despite the fact that injecting sodium bicarbonate near the tumor location is the most effective way of dealing with it, it is much simpler to administrate the ingredient orally, which can be easily done at home.
