Natural Remedies for Disinfecting Your Tongue Naturally


To have a clean and bacteria free tongue you will need:

– Toothpaste
– 1 clean toothbrush
– One tongue scraper
– Mouthwash


  • Put a little toothpaste on the toothbrush and start to brush your tongue from front to back. Rinse using lukewarm water.
  • Rub your tongue with a tongue scraper to remove any remaining white residue .The correct way is to hold the element horizontally with their lips, applying light pressure on the tongue while scraping back and forth.
  • At the end, clean your mouth using an antibacterial mouthwash, for one or two minutes.
  • The antibacterial mouthwash will eliminate any remaining microscopic germs. You can buy one or you can make your own natural antibacterial mouthwash. Here are some recipes.

1. Rinse bicarbonate

Baking soda helps to disinfect the mouth and neutralizes odors.


– 1 cup water (250 ml)
– 1 teaspoon baking soda (4.6 g)
– 3 drops of peppermint essential oil


Put all the ingredients in a jar and mix them well. Make several mouth rinses and spits the liquid.

2. Rinse apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar acts like natural disinfectant that helps to fight different types of microorganisms.

This simple rinse leaves the mouth clean and eliminates odors that causes halitosis.


– 1 cup water (250 ml)
– 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (30 ml)


  • Mix the two ingredients in a jar and use it as rinsing liquid after regular brushing.

3. Rinse parsley and cloves

Parsley liquid combined with cloves can help neutralize bad breath and bacterial growth in the mouth.


– ½ cup water (125 ml)
– 1 sprig of parsley
– 3 whole cloves

4. Rinse hydrogen peroxide

– 1 part hydrogen peroxide (2% – 5%)
– 3 parts water

5. Antiseptic Mouthwash

– 150 ml of apple cider vinegar
– 120 ml water
– 15 ml of vegetable glycerin
– 15g of myrrh gum powder (antiseptic)
– 5 drops of essential oil of cinnamon
– 5 drops of essential oil of clove


  • Mix all the ingredients in a clean glass jar and shake. Use the amount necessary to wash your mouth and spit it out.

6. Rinse mint

The mint has antibacterial and disinfectant properties which stops the bacteria growth in the mouth.

Its scent refreshes your mouth and leaves a pleasant aroma.


– 5 mint leaves
– ½ cup water (125 ml)


  • Prepare a tea with mint leaves and half a cup of water, let it sit a little and rinse with the liquid after brushing your teeth.
